BNB Chain Boosts Layer-2 Ecosystem with Rollup Service Expansion

BNB Chain has introduced a rollup service solution for building layer-2 blockchains on its network. The service, called rollup-as-a-service (RaaS), aims to support the expansion of BNB Chain’s ecosystem by providing projects with the necessary infrastructure to deploy layer-2 networks on the blockchain. This service is particularly beneficial for decentralized applications (DApps) in various project verticals, such as blockchain gaming and decentralized finance (DeFi).

One of the key features of the RaaS solution is its support for developers who may not be familiar with coding. BNB Chain offers rollup management support and a “no-code” deployment option, making it accessible to a wider range of projects. The layer-2 networks built through BNB Chain’s RaaS service will be based on the BNB Smart Chain (BSC), which serves as the foundational layer-1 blockchain and governance chain for BNB Chain.

The BNB Chain Core Development Team believes that this new service aligns with their goal of promoting the mass adoption of Web3 technology. They believe that by combining the power of RaaS and the interconnectivity capabilities of their ecosystem, developers will have a comprehensive toolkit to build efficient and scalable layer-2 networks on BSC.

BNB Chain has been focusing on layer-2 networks since 2023 and has made significant progress in this area. They recently unveiled opBNB, a layer-2 scaling solution based on the Optimism OP Stack, on a testnet. This solution is compatible with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), enabling it to work with Ethereum-based smart contracts and token standards. After a testing phase, opBNB was deployed onto a mainnet, where it handled over 35 million transactions and 150 DApps.

The BNB Chain team claims that the opBNB platform achieved 4,000 transactions per second (TPS) during a stress test. They view the new rollup service as a continuation of their efforts to achieve their goals for the year. Earlier this year, BNB Chain released its “BNB Chain 2024 Outlook,” which introduced the concept of “One BNB” interconnectivity, connecting BSC with their decentralized storage service, BNB Greenfield.

  1. I’m amazed by the stress test results of the opBNB platform! 4,000 TPS is no joke. BNB Chain is really pushing the limits and delivering high-performance solutions for the future of blockchain technology.

  2. Wow, BNB Chain has been focusing on layer-2 networks for quite some time now. Their progress is impressive, especially with opBNB handling millions of transactions and DApps. This shows their commitment to innovation and efficiency.

  3. The BNB Chain team is really dedicated to promoting mass adoption of Web3 technology. The combination of RaaS and the interconnectivity capabilities of their ecosystem will definitely give developers the tools they need to build scalable layer-2 networks.
