Okay so I've been doing some brainstorming for the past hour or so trying to come up with a new and unique style of competitions that involve the game section. We understand that the previous competition might have been a bit too strenuous for some of our members so I think that I might have come up with a fairly decent solution.
The idea that I have come up with is more or less a tournament. The way this tournament would work is it would be ran over three games, each game lasting for two days. The top five placed members for each game would receive a tournament score based on what they place, and the actual winner for each game would be paid out.
For example, first place would get 20 points, second place 17 points, third 14 points, fourth 10 points and fifth 6 points. These placings would be determined by the highest score set on each game. To add in a bit of unpredictability, the second and third games will only be picked by staff after the previous game has ended.
Scores from previous games would also carry over. For example, say I won the first game, I would go into the second game sitting in first place overall with 20 points. At the end of the three games the five players with the most points would be paid out.
What does everyone else think? I'm pretty happy with the idea but I'd like feedback from the rest of the community, thanks.
